Poem of the Week

July 23, 2019 by LizardKing
Jim Morrison
An American Prayer, poetry

This week’s featured poem is an excerpt from An American Prayer:

We’re perched headlong

      on the edge of boredom

We’re reaching for death

on the end of a candle

We’re trying for something

      That’s already found us

From: The Lords – Notes on Vision

Surround Emperor of Body.

Bali Bali Dancers

Will not break my temple.

Explorers

suck eyes into the head.

the rosy body cross

secret in flow

controls its flow.

Wrestlers

in body weights dance

and music, mimesis, body.

Swimmers

entertain embryo

sweet dangerous thrust flow.
