Land of no Right
By Jim Morrison
Page 2 Jon has dedicated his life to deciphering
the genetic codes that make up the various
living organisms on Earth. His knowledge
to duplicate these life-forms is far beyond
anyone else's.
Leo is full of energy and also in the best
shape of his life. He feels strong enough
to rip worlds apart. Jon is not as muscular
and is weak from malnutrition and he struggles
just to catch his breath. Leo was slightly
injured during the Earthquakes when his lavatory
collapsed. Luckily only a small amount debris
landed on him.
Jon walks away from the streetlight to a
bench that use to be a bus stop and he sits
down. Exhausted and still breathing hard,
Jon maps out in his immediate plans. Jon
feels like he is leaving something behind
but he can not remember just what. Still
trying catch his breath, Jon slowly begins
to feel better. He calls over to Leo and
begins to ask him questions. He asks, What
is happening?" "Who sent you!"
Leo answers him in not too much detail but
states that a Madman is purposely trying
to eliminate any chances of re-establishing
any life forms back on earth.
Leo then hands Jon a rubber flask and informs
him that it is mineral water. Jon quickly
takes the flask because his throat so parched
it hurts. Jon lifts the cloth covering his
mouth, he tips up the flask and drinks off
it. Lowering the flask, Jon lets out a sigh
of relief. He then takes a few more swallows
and splashes some the cool water onto his
face.
Leo then reaches for the flask and says,
"Jon we do not have any to spare."
Jon takes another drink then he replies,
"How much water do we have?"
Seeing Jon take another drink irritates Leo
but he calmly say, "Please give me the
flask." Jon then hands the flask back
to Leo. After Leo has a drink himself, he
then puts the cap securely on the flask and
attaches to his belt.
Jon seems to be wondering about something
until Leo interrupts his thoughts insisting
that they find shelter before nightfall.
Jon agrees and then the two men begin to
walk down the deserted street. Jon's curiosity
finally peaks. He asks Leo to tell him more
about the Madman that he had mention earlier.
Leo replies by saying, "This Madman
wants to rule the this universe and destroying
life on earth must be apart of his master
plan." Leo then informs Jon that no
one thought that he would find him alive.
Leo also says, "I haven't even seen
any other survivors!" "Not anything!"
Leo continues to inform Jon that the only
thing on Earth that is still intact, is Rock
Mountain.
Both men are familiar with this
place. Rock
Mountain was designed generations
ago to
withstand the inevitable natural
course of
the Earths' platonic movements.
It is a relief
station carved deep inside a
mountain of
granite. Inside this relief station
there
is food, water and medical supplies.
